Ascension

I love painting snow—there is nothing quite as peaceful as a winter morning in the forest. The quiet beauty of pristine drifts, broken only by the gentle gurgle of a brook, inspired this work.

This is the largest painting I have created to date, and I consider it among my very best. Crafted with the finest oil paints and sealed with a protective varnish, it is built to endure for generations. The piece is elegantly finished in a custom, handmade pale gold leaf floater frame by Bryan Smith Frames, designed specifically to complement this work. With its scale and presence, it will make a striking statement in a spacious setting.
